When to seek aged care advice

Aged care advice should be sought when a real decision is required — such as following a hospital admission, a significant decline in health, or when residential care is being considered.

Seeking specialist advice at the right time ensures decisions are based on accurate information, current legislation and the client’s actual circumstances.

Trusted aged care expertise

Aged care advice is a specialist discipline. It involves complex legislation, Centrelink assessment rules, facility contracts and strict timing requirements that differ significantly from traditional financial planning.

To ensure clients receive high‑quality, specialist advice, Ironbark provides access to aged care experts through its wholly owned subsidiary, Beacon Aged Care.

Ironbark advisers work closely with Beacon’s aged care specialists to deliver expert guidance when aged care decisions arise. Beacon’s advisers work exclusively in aged care and understand the system end-to-end, ensuring advice is accurate, current and seamlessly integrated with the client’s broader financial strategy, all coordinated through their existing Ironbark adviser.

A time and place that suits you

In South-East Queensland, meetings can be held at a location convenient for you, including your home, hospital or care facility, at no additional cost. Phone and video appointments are also available.

For clients located outside South-East Queensland, your Ironbark adviser can arrange a face-to-face meeting at their office, where you will meet in person with your adviser and connect with Beacon’s aged care specialists via Microsoft Teams. This allows you to receive specialist aged care advice while remaining supported by your trusted Ironbark adviser in a familiar setting.
