Overview
The Maple-Brown Abbott Global Listed Infrastructure investment team employ a fundamental, bottom-up investment approach to construct a high-conviction portfolio of 25-35 global listed infrastructure assets, diversified by country and sector, with a focus on sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors.
The strategy applies a strict definition of listed infrastructure, focusing on businesses that provide essential services and are expected to offer the strongest combination of inflation protection and low volatility relative to broader equity markets, including regulated utilities, essential transport and contracted assets. Security selection is grounded in fundamental valuation and balance‑sheet analysis, complemented by a top‑down view of regulatory, policy and macro drivers such as rates and inflation. By focusing on businesses with explicit inflation‑linkage or pricing power within regulated frameworks, the portfolio seeks to participate in real growth, while maintaining core defensive characteristics to provide more resilience through market downturns versus broader equities.
